I believe that, in the interest of finding out the depths of this era—and as bad as this was, Lance was just ONE of MANY dopers, and Ferrari was just ONE of a whole army of drug pushers—that the responsible parties MUST insulate Lance from future litigation. Otherwise he's going to be obliged to keep his secrets. The cost of a guilt-free conscience far outweighs the golden (yellow) silence.

This really needs to be run by someone like Charles Pelkey, but I'm wondering if there might be a loophole in all of this somewhere. Lance could (possibly) go on TV and say that he regrets his silence and what he saw and did, pledge his full cooperation to the authorities and only have to give detailed testimony to a grand jury wherein everything can remain sealed.

That way, no one knows exactly what he said to whom, so there is no basis to re-open suits upon.

great commentary and perspective, however, with the massive amount of news spin that those well-publicised cases received it will be naive to think those parties will not now return to court wil defamation suits.
the net effect will be several more millions to defend or settle those.

Well done. It reflects my own evolution in thinking about Rabobank today. Life can only be understood by looking back, but it must be lived by going forward. I hope that the needed changes take place so that a beautiful sport can continue and thrive as it should. This much is owed to the future generations who need to learn that heroisim and elegant suffering go hand in hand and that there are no shortcuts to true excellence.

I think that the 600 number referred to those that were there for Team in Training, not the overall rider count.

Looking at the riders on Las Vegas blvd., & Eastern Ave headed towards Town Center for packet pickup this morning, and the bicycles parked in the immediate area, I would venture to say these numbers are low for the participants of the 2012 RTC/Interbike Viva Las Vegas Grand Fondo Pinarello.

As a huge pro cycling fan, I will read the book. As far as Lance, whom I love, I agree, he should just free himself and come clean. So many others were doing it, but he was just the greatest at getting away with it.
